We are planning a trip to The Houston International Quilt Show at The George R. Brown Convention Center on November 1st. Admission is $15 for ages 50-64 and $12 for ages 65+. Lunch will be at the convention center (on your own) or you may bring a sack lunch.
We are planning a trip to the Amazon Warehouse in Houston for November 14th. Admission is FREE. Lunch (on your own) at Golden Corral. We will finish the day at the Harris County War Memorial at Bear Creek Pioneers Park. Admission is FREE.

This is a four-class series covering the basics of nutrition and self-management topics to reduce hypertension. The program helps you or manage high blood pressure. The program's primary goal is to improve blood pressure management through the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) eating plan. It is brought to you by the Harris County Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service.
Lois Johnson from the Hearing Loss Association of America is speaking about her hearing loss and sharing how you can use your Smartphone as a handy tool that can sub as a hearing aid. Lunch will be provided by one of the free captioned phone companies after the presentation.

Learn how to transform napkins into a sailboats when you help us prepare for our Columbus Day Celebration on October 14th. Bring your own napkins if you prefer making sailboats for your own party!
Join us for a potluck luncheon on the day which celebrates the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492. Bring foods that may have been favorite Italian and Spanish dishes of Columbus and his crew, or foods the indigenous peoples may have enjoyed eating at that time in history.
Join us on a trip to the Bluebonnet Opry in Brenham for October 17th. Admission is $7. Dinner at Chappell Hill Bakery and Deli (on your own) before the show.

Register and bring in the $13 supply fee by October 4th, then join 'woodworm' Gene Chism on Oct. 28, 29 and 30 to decorate a wood turkey for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Mr. Chism is supplying the necessary wood cut-outs, acrylic paints and paint brushes.
Bring in your favorite Halloween story or poem to share when we get together this morning for a Halloween celebration of a slightly different nature! Nothing but literary candy please! Stories or poems should not be longer than approximately five minutes each so that everyone gets a turn.
