Aging in Place: How to Stay in your Own Home as Long as Possible as you Age. Understand guidelines for evaluating the changes that occur, when you need to consider getting help or support, how to know if you can safely age-in-place, the benefits of staying in your home (when possible), how to plan, and where to get the help you need. Get a list of community resources for preparing to stay in your home as long as possible and ways to plan wisely for this option. Too often after a fall, a stroke, or simply an arbitrary point decided by family, older members of our community may find themselves relocated to a senior facility because someone has decided that she or he is no longer safe living on their own. In cases where mobility and independence were the primary concerns, a little preparation could have made a big difference, allowing that person to remain in his or her home. Learn about available resources to allow anyone to outsmart physical barriers to living alone while maintaining an active, independent lifestyle. Meet Certified Aging-in-Place Specialists teaching families how to maintain their lifestyles to ensure they thrive in place!
